How does SupportApp work?

SupportApp works by matching qualifications, interests/hobbies, availabilities, and location parameters between participants (Support Seekers) and people who provide support (Support Workers).

Benefits of SupportApp for Support Workers?

SupportApp enables Support Workers to easily and efficiently increase visibility and advertise their services to clients. SupportApp lists both the services you provide and your availability which allows seamless matching and direct connection with clients, saving you time and increasing your revenue.

Benefits of SupportApp for Support Seekers?

SupportApp supports you in finding the right worker for your needs, whether it’s for assistance at home, while you’re out and about, during appointments, or for therapy support. SupportApp matches your requirements for a worker and also takes into account your preferred days and times. It then compares this information against available workers in your area and provides you with a list of matched Support Workers’ profiles. From here, you can go through the profiles and choose the worker that would be the best fit for your needs. Our goal is to simplify the process of matching support workers with participant needs, making it a stress-free experience for everyone involved while saving time and money.

How much does SupportApp cost?

SupportApp is a subscription-based platform that requires an annual fee of $500 from all Support Workers. Once you pay the subscription fee, you will have access to the SupportApp platform without any limits for the duration of your subscription. The good news is that ABN holders can claim this annual fee as a tax deduction.

Can I cancel my subscription?

SupportApp allows you to cancel your subscription anytime via the App Store or Google Play. Refunds are not available except under extenuating circumstances.

What policies are in place for my safety?

SupportApp requires that both Support Workers and Support Seekers upload proof of identity to gain access to the SupportApp platform. This measure helps to keep the SupportApp community safe. Additionally, Support Workers are required to provide their ABN, relevant insurances, CPR & First Aid certificates, as well as their Working With Children Check and Police Check.

To further maintain the safety of our community, SupportApp has implemented strict Terms of Use. Any user found to be violating these conditions will be removed from the platform and appropriate action will be taken.

What is a Support Seeker?

A Support Seeker in the SupportApp community refers to anyone who requires support, including individuals with disabilities, Aged Care clients, or those in need of assistance around the home.

What is a Support Worker?

A Support Worker is anyone who offers their services in the SupportApp community. These can include help with household tasks, therapy, travel, and community engagement support.

What does my annual subscription to SupportApp give me?

A SupportApp subscription provides unlimited access to the platform and community connections throughout the subscription period.

What do I do if I feel like someone is misusing the SupportApp platform?

Please notify us!! SupportApp has strict Terms of Use and other policies in place that are designed to keep everyone safe. If you feel a person is breaching these policies you can contact SupportApp through our email notify@supportapp.com.au.

How do I connect with someone in SupportApp?

After you have discovered a profile that matches your needs for support, you can request to contact that person, and they will receive a notification. The other person can then choose to release their contact information to you, and you can proceed from there.

Can my profile be private?

We understand that some Support Seekers may prefer to keep their profiles private. You can choose this option while creating your profile. Selecting this option will prevent your profile from appearing in search results, but you can still search for Support Workers and send them a contact request. When you send a contact request to a Support Worker, they will be able to view your profile and decide whether to accept or decline your request. However, please note that SupportApp can view your profile at all times, even if it is set to private.

How do I stay safe while using SupportApp?

At SupportApp, we make every effort to keep our community members safe by verifying their identification and credentials. However, we strongly advise our members to exercise caution when contacting others. This may include meeting in a public place, bringing a friend or support person to the first meeting, and informing someone about their plans. Moreover, we encourage all members to report any suspicious or dangerous behavior to the appropriate authorities as well as to SupportApp via notify@supportapp.com.au.

How do I know when a person wants to connect with me?

After you make a request for contact, the person who could potentially provide support to you will receive a push notification. Similarly, when you accept a request for contact, the other person will receive a push notification. These notifications can be viewed in your in-app notifications panel as well.

Is the annual payment tax-deductible?

If you are subscribed to SupportApp as a worker, you can claim the subscription fee as a tax deduction.

How do I cancel a connection request?

To cancel a contact request that you have sent, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Requests tab.

2. Select the Sent option.

3. Choose the profile you wish to cancel the contact request.

4. Click on Cancel.

 

To cancel a contact request that you have received, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Requests tab.

2. Select the Contact Requests option.

3. Choose the profile for which you want to cancel the request.

4. Click on Cancel.

How do I change my profile details and search parameters?

You have the option to modify your preferences anytime you want. Please find below the steps that you need to follow:

1. Click on the Profile tab.

2. Select the Profile Information tab.

This will allow you to update your profile and adjust your search settings to find the best support match for you.

What if I am not being paid for the service I am providing to a Support Seeker?

SupportApp does not handle invoicing for Support Workers however you can report the support seeker to SupportApp and their subscription will be temporarily suspended until the matter has been satisfactorily resolved.
